MA Inpatient Detox/Acute Treatment Services
​
Inpatient Detox or Acute Treatment Services (ATS) programs focus on detoxification (detox) as well as providing intensive counseling and preparation for treatment in a community-based setting. These inpatient programs provide 24-hour structure and intensive care, under the consultation of a medical director, to monitor an individual's withdrawal from alcohol and other drugs and alleviate symptoms. All clients work with a case manager to develop a plan for aftercare services including transitional support services, outpatient counseling, residential rehabilitation, or other clinically appropriate treatment to help maintain the clients recovery. After detox is completed, the individual can then take the next step in the recovery process.

The length of stay for inpatient detox is 3 to 14 days (with an average of 7 to 10 days).
